GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES- for safety and school effectiveness:  

 Morning: Students are encouraged to come to School around 8:15 each morning.

   Primary:

 Parents escort car-riders to their classrooms.  Primary supervisor escorts bus riders to their classrooms.

 On fine days, primary students will wait/play until 8:15 on area assigned (teachers will walk their students through this procedure.

  On  bad-weather days, they will go straight to their classrooms.

Kindergarten will always go straight into their classrooms,  rain or shine.

 Grades 4-10

 On good-weather days, students wait until 8:15 in the covered porch of the school building.

On bad-weather days, they wait in their respective foyers until 8:15 or go straight to their homerooms, according to class guidelines. 

No running in the hallways, stairs or any other part of the building- to prevent injuries.

 Recess and Lunch (at separate times for Primary & Gr. 4-10)

 The following guidelines mainly apply to Grades 4-10 :

 Snacks, food, and drinks (except water) are not  taken outdoors. Steady eaters may bring their remaining food or drinks downstairs to the Office Foyer and use the benches there to finish their lunch before proceeding outdoors.  All students, unless sick, must be in the fresh air, during breaks.

 Students must always wear their outdoor/gym shoes if they plan to play on the soccer ground. These shoes must have the word “OUT” written in permanent ink on the side. The duty teacher will make on-spot random checks.

 Students must have a PASS from the duty teacher to re-enter the main building for any reason.

 School Break-up Time:

 Primary

  Board the buses 5 minutes before other grades.

   Bus drivers will be in their buses by 2:55.

  Car-riders wait for their parents in their classrooms to be picked up.

  Parents are urged to pick up their children between 2:50 - and 3:00

  Between 3:15 to 4:00 pm,, all late pick-ups can be made from the main sch building lobby close to the Office.

  Grades 4-10

 Main building students are dismissed at exactly at 3:00.

  Grades 5 &  6  exit through the northern-end (Mission – side)  lobby door.

  Other grades exit through the Office-side main entrance door.

  There is a Car-ride Waiting Zone close to the school rental house

   Homeroom staff escort students out to this Zone and leave them there for the Supervisor.

  Students are asked to go and wait in the Lobby after 3:15 if there is no pick-up.

  All students must use the crosswalk at all times for safety reasons.

  Main entrance porch is car-ride waiting zone on wet days . 

   Once the school buses have left,  parents can drive through, as well, to pick up their children on rainy days and use the northern side.

   Parent Pick-up and Drop-off Zone:   

  Proceed slowly and cautiously through the parking lot.

  It is suggested that cell phone use should be limited to stationary vehicles.

  Please fasten seatbelts before starting car.

  We need parents’ co-operation and consideration to ensure everyone’s safety at all times.
